Call for contributions

July 31st - August 2nd 2020, in the region of Anykščiai (exact location will be announced later) SapfoFest is coming back! For a couple past months we were closely observing the situation and waiting for more information to be able to announce the festival and start organising the programme. We’re cautiously checking the news and are starting to prepare extra safety guidelines to make sure SapfoFest can happen smoothly!

Since it was announced that outdoor events of up to 500 people will be allowed in Lithuania starting June 16th, we invite all SapfoFest friends and allies to contribute to this year’s festival programme and atmosphere!
Would you like to lead a workshop, put on a performance or exhibition, maybe play some music? Get in touch with us on Facebook or over e-mail before15th July 2020. with the following info about your proposed activity:

  • Title of the activity. What type of activity is it? (lecture, discussion, workshop, exhibition, performance, etc);
  • Description of activity. A brief 3-5 lines description of your activity, which will be published in the Festival programme and website;
  • Time needed for the activity (we normally allocate a 1 or 1.5-hour slot for a single activity);
  • Preferred day and/or time (festival starts on Friday evening through Sunday lunchtime, main activities will be taking place on Saturday 1st of August);
  • Do you need any special equipment ( sound system, office supplies, etc.) or an interpreter?;
  • Your name(s) (which we will shared on SapfoFest website along with the activity description).

Contribution may be related, but not limited to: queer, gender–related issues and feminist perspectives; environment and animal-rights perspectives; sexual rights related perspectives; non-normative relationship perspectives; social justice; etc. etc. etc.

Please consult community guidelines.

Feel free to forward this ‘Call for Contributions’ to any individuals, groups or communities that might be interested.

We all organise SapfoFest voluntarily and dedicate as much of our time as each of us is able to. However, we do take our tasks with responsibility! If you too have limited time resources and would only be able to join us towards the beginning of the festival, no problem – just indicate this in your email. Most help will be needed during the festival.

We miss you and look forward to seeing you all at the festival!
